..recalled
WASHINGTON, D.C.–Honda is recalling thousands of Acura sedans because the power steering hoses in the cars can crack and leak from high temperatures under the hood.
Some of the vehicles being recalled include the 2004-2008 Acura TL models. Honda decided to recall the models so technicians can install new heat-resistant power steering hoses.
If the hoses do crack and leak, it could spark an engine fire, however none have been reported.
Honda is also recalling the 2004-2005 model of the Acura TL because the circuit breaker inside the windshield wiper motor could fail. (NBC Saturday, March 01, 2008)
The Acura TL is one of the top-selling sedans in the United States. Acura is one of the divisions of Honda Motors. Honda is now planning to install new heat resistant hose. They are asking the dealers to check on the hoses of the vehicles. This is to check if corrosion is present. And if there is indeed corrosion, the hose will be replaced immediately.
